Elizabeth brings extensive environmental litigation experience to Burns Charest LLP. Working with attorneys across Louisiana, Elizabeth helps landowners secure cleanup of their property from pollution caused by decades of oil and gas operations. These operations often result in toxic and radioactive sludge being left behind by oil companies to migrate into the soils of her native Louisiana.
On behalf of these injured individuals, small businesses, and the environment, she tackles novel issues of law and litigates against some of the largest and well-heeled companies in the United States. Elizabeth thrives in managing all aspects of environmental litigation, and her efforts have resulted in her clients securing favorable resolutions in many environmental cases, as well as in consumer rights litigation and beyond.
Elizabeth’s commitment to small businesses is firmly rooted in her family’s background. She was born and raised on her family’s now fourth-generation rice farm in Southwest Louisiana, where she learned the value of hard work and a sense of responsibility for one’s surroundings. Because of her individual background and previous casework, she is well versed in both the legal and personal issues facing landowners and small business owners alike.
Elizabeth acquired comprehensive appellate experience from her tenure as a civil staff attorney with the Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeal in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Prior to joining Burns Charest LLP, Elizabeth worked at a boutique plaintiff-oriented firm in New Orleans, Louisiana.
