Acclaimed Dallas Attorney Darren Nicholson Joins Burns Charest

DALLAS – Trial lawyer Darren Nicholson, consistently recognized as one of the top litigators in Texas, has joined the Dallas office of Burns Charest LLP. For almost 20 years, Mr. Nicholson has represented plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation and intellectual property disputes in courts across the nation.

“We are very pleased that Darren chose to join us in continuing to build a regional and national presence in commercial litigation for our firm,” said Warren Burns, co-founder of Burns Charest. “While he had any number of options to pursue, Darren recognized and appreciated the personal passion and innovative approaches to litigation that we offer our clients.”

Mr. Nicholson has been honored on the lists of The Best Lawyers in America, Texas Super Lawyers and Texas Rising Stars, Martindale-Hubbell, and as one of D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas.

Among his most notable cases are the successful representation of plaintiffs in a multimillion-dollar lawsuit involving business fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and commercial bribery; a favorable summary judgment in a breach of contract claim stemming from the Texas Ranger Baseball Partners bankruptcy; and a take-nothing judgment and order sealing the case for a client wrongfully accused of fraud and tortious interference with a contract.

“What Warren and Dan Charest have done together is so impressive, and I couldn’t be more excited to join their team,” said Nicholson. “Burns Charest is home to some of the best legal talent in Dallas. I can’t wait to get started.”

Mr. Nicholson began his legal career in 2001 at the international Washington D.C.- based Arnold & Porter LLP, and joined the boutique litigation firm of Sayles Werbner in Dallas in 2008.

He earned his law degree in 2001 from the Georgetown University Law Center, with honors, and received his undergraduate degrees from The University of Texas in 1997. He is licensed to practice in a range of venues, including the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and all federal and state district courts in Texas

Burns Charest represents clients in large, complex class actions; antitrust cases; oil and gas royalty disputes; environmental pollution cases; mass torts; and asbestos exposure claims. The firm has offices in New Orleans, Dallas and Denver.
