Clarence “Trey” Roby, III

Clarence “Trey” Roby, III joined Burns Charest in 2023 after graduating from Tulane University Law School, where he obtained his J.D. and certificates in Sports Law, Advanced Study & Training in Negotiation, and Advanced Study & Training in Mediation.

While at Tulane, he competed in the Regional and National Black Law Student Association’s Appellate Competitions. At the regional level, Trey and his partner, won Best Team Overall for the Southwest Region. At the National Competition, they won Best Team, Best Petitioner Brief, and Trey was awarded Best Oralist. After competing, he decided to coach the incoming team. With hard work, Tulane retained back-to-back Regional and National titles. Trey was also a Student Attorney in the Juvenile Law Clinic where he litigated delinquency cases in Orleans Parish Juvenile Court. Lastly, he completed externships for Justice Piper Griffin of the Louisiana Supreme Court and the Honorable Jane Triche Milazzo of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Prior to law school, Trey worked in the advertising industry in Brooklyn, NY after obtaining his B.B.A in Marketing from Howard University. Trey is an active member in the community as a member of Delta Sigma Pi Professional Fraternity and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
